BlogSherpa - launch destinations
Matthew CashmoreLonely Planet author
*****UPDATE*****
One of the biggest bits of feedback we’ve had so far is that the destination list we wanted to use for the beta launch was just too limiting - it didn’t allow for bloggers who were travelling or who were very passionate about areas other than on the list. So, listening to that feedback we’re scrapping the destination list and we’re opening sign-up to anyone who writes a blog about travelling or a destination……. read more…..
For launch of BlogSherpa we’ve decided to go with a limited list of destinations - this means we can concentrate on particular areas of the website before rolling the system out for broader integration… importantly it will allow us mess with stuff in a slightly controlled manner!
The launch destinations for beta are:
- New York City
- Chicago
- London
- Seattle
- Barcelona
- Rome
- San Francisco
- Beijing
- Berlin
- Sao Paulo (Brazil)
- Las Vegas
- Brighton & Hove
- Queenstown (NZ)
- Tel Aviv
- Byron Bay
- Santiago (Chile)
- Vancouver
- Mumbai (Bombay)
- Dili (East Timor)
- Karachi
- Galway (Ireland)
- Sarejevo (Bosnia) or Riga (Latvia)
- Puerto Viejo de Talamanca (Costa Rica)
- Cape Cod (USA)
- Ubud (Bali)
We understand that many travel blogs are about journeys, but we’re also aware of the many many wonderful blogs that concentrate on particular areas of the globe. Once we’ve got this working we’ll be rolling the system out to the rest of lonelyplanet.com and therefore every area you can think of.

This blog exists to bring you the latest information on what we're developing here in the rather secret underground bunker at Lonely Planet Towers. You can also follow us on twitter
