Prizes for the LP Travel Blogger Awards

Matthew CashmoreLonely Planet author

We’ve been very quiet about the prizes for the Lonely Planet Travel Blogger Awards - for a very simple reason. We wanted people to enter and vote because they were entering really good blogs, not to win a prize.

But of course, we haz prizes.

Each category winner will take home (prepare showbiz style music backing):

In addition, the winners of the Best Spanish Language Blog will also take home the Atlas Universal Planeta, and the winners of the Best French Language Blog will take home a GPS device to be confirmed, we’re still working with our Italian partners to secure a prize for Best Italian Language Blog.

Here’s the really big news - as well as the category winners we will be awarding the very first “Lonely Planet Best Travel Blog” award. Apart from the massive bragging rights, we’ve put together an extra special prize pack.

Yes, that’s right, a bunch of exceptionally cool prizes… and the ENTIRE LONELY PLANET CATALOGUE…. that’s a lot of books. In fact it’s so many books I can’t list them all here - that would be silly - but go look at the lonelyplanet.com/shop to get an idea. The actual full list will be given to the winners - the total retail value is US$10,000. That’s about 488 books. Hope you have shelves.

No cash equivalents, our decision is final and we will not enter into discussions about the decisions of the judges. You must also ensure you comply with any local tax laws pertaining to the winning of prizes. We recerve the right to change the prizes without notification, and to alter the contents of the prizes.

None of this would have been possible without the fantastic support of our sponsors - I urge you to visit their sites and take a look at what they offer.
