* How do you get my entries?

We will look at your blog when you tell us to (via the admin interface or via a trackback link from your blog), when the application sees the BlogSherpa tag it will take that entry and place it on lonelyplanet.com and display it on the relevant pages. Read more detail at BlogSherpaGrabbingContent

* What happens if I use the wrong tag?

You have to use the BlogSherpa tag in order for us to see you want us to post this entry to lonelyplanet.com – if you don’t then we wont pick it up and display it. You must also use the correct destination tag, otherwise you’ll not get the best placement for your post, and therefore not as many page views.

* What if I want to remove my content?

You can remove your blog, and content at any time from lonelyplanet.com by contacting us directly. You can remove your entire blog, or just individual posts at any time, in fact by just removing the BlogSherpa tag from your post it will be pulled from lonelyplanet.com

* What happens to my copyright?

You retain all copyright to your work, you do not pass lonelyplanet.com any rights beyond allowing us to display your posts on lonelyplanet.com. We may wish to use your content in other lonelyplanet.com products in the future, but we will always contact you and agree a fee for this.

* What about my videos and photos?

Any photos or videos contained within your posts will be displayed on lonelyplanet.com

* Where will my blogs be displayed?

You blog entries will be displayed in the most relevant places (based primarily on the tags you provide) on the lonelyplanet.com website. So if you write a post about London, you could expect to see your post linked to from the London pages, the England pages, the UK pages and the Europe pages. Obviously the more specific you are with your tags the better. We chose the links to post on the relevant pages based on how recent they are.

* Can I promote my posts?

Yes, feel free to link to your posts on lonelyplanet.com as much as you like from elsewhere on the web. We'll be providing a graphics pack and some widgets that may help you.

* How do I know how many people view my post?

If you use Google Analytics, then we can add your ID to your posts and you’ll be able to track statistics through your normal account.

* Can I use Lonely Planet content in my posts?

Yes, if you’re witting a post for BlogSherpa you are free to use lonelyplanet.com content – but not images.

* Can I use Lonely Planet content on my blog?

We’ll be launching a new developer API later in the year that will allow you to pull Lonely Planet content from our database and display it on your site for non-commercial use. If you are not writing a BlogSherpa post, then you can not use Lonely Planet content for the moment.

* Can I use the Lonely Planet logo on my blog?

Yes, there’ll be a page on the BlogSherpa admin panel that will provide you with the tools you need to display the Lonely Planet logo on your blog or elsewhere on the web.

* How do I make money?

When your post is displayed on lonelyplanet.com we display google ads around your content. We use your google adsense account ID so that any click-through on these adverts are paid directly to you.

* What if I don’t have a Google Ad-sense Account?

You need an ad-sense account to take part in BlogSherpa – if you don’t wish to earn money from your posts we can pass your earnings onto a charity on your behalf. All the money raised from all the bloggers who elect to do this is put into the same pot, and one donation a year is made from that account – details of which will be posted in the blogsherpa admin panel.

* How much will I earn?

It very much depends on how much traffic and clicks you get on your posts. Unfortunately until we’ve tried this out we genuinely don’t know. We need you to work with us so we can tune the commercial model to make as much cash for you as we can.
